Duration
2001 – 2005
Summary
My client obtained IT desktop service from his provider and had handed over the inventory of approximately 75,000 personal computers to the provider. In order to cater for cost-by-cause-principle in the future, the inventory had to be adjusted after service commencement day.
Project environment
Due to the fact, that the workstations were spread over multiple locations all over Germany, a sort of ‘market place’ was established, so that managers who were in charge of cost centers could claim or deny the possession of IT equipment.
Project goal
The task was to have the correct cost center for each and any piece of IT equipment.
Project size
Business side of the client was involved with about 6 people and the provider side with about 6 people as well. Implementation was done by myself. Support was given by numerous teams of the field service.
My responsibilities
In the overall project, I was responsible for the implementation of the ‘market place’ application. These included, among others, the following aspects:
- Design and implementation of appropriate processes in alignment with client and provider,
- Management of all requirements initiated by various stakeholders,
- Development of algorithms and data models,
- Authoring of all requirements and specification documents,
- Programming of all specified features,
- Design and scheduling of tests,
- Preparation and conduction of the approval by my client,
- Conducting the go-life phase,
- Operating and maintaining the application.
